Reid Jagger is a professional trumpet player and high school English teacher. He studied trumpet with Joseph Foley, principal trumpet in the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, and was a member of the Boston College Wind Ensemble. While at BC, he studied music and performance while earning his B.A. in English. He developed his jazz chops playing lead trumpet in the John Payne Music Center Latin Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Peter Cicco. He currently leads the jazz band at Bishop Connolly High School, where he is a member of the English Department faculty. He recently completed his Master of Arts in Teaching at Rhode Island College, and also plays Latin percussion and piano. Though versed in multiple styles, Reid’s true passion is playing jazz—America’s most original art form.
